What Does Florida Healthy Kids Cover?

Florida Healthy Kids makes sure children ages 5-18 can get the health care they need.

Most members can get coverage for just $15 or $20 a month. There are two plan options:

  • A subsidized plan for families who meet certain income requirements
  • A full-pay plan for families who earn more than the income limit

 

No matter which plan you choose, all Florida Healthy Kids programs cover:

Doctor visits

Checkups

Hospital stays

Surgeries

Pharmacy and prescription services

Emergency services

Vision and hearing services

Mental health services

Community Care Plan Value-Added Benefits
Along with the regular benefits, we offer value-added services for Florida Healthy Kids members:

  • $0 copays for primary care doctor visits
  • $0 copays for sports or school physicals
  • Rewards for completing a Health Risk Assessment
  • FREE transportation for medical and dental checkups
  • Help with lodging for medical needs
  • $100 each year for hypoallergenic bedding, if medically necessary
  • House calls from a provider when needed
  • FREE water safety classes
  • Access to healthy behavior coaching
  • Weight management program for kids ages 5-18

How to Apply for Florida Healthy Kids

Applying for Florida Healthy Kids is easy and can be done in one of two ways.

By Phone: Call Florida KidCare at 
1-888-540-KIDS (5437).

Online: Visit the Florida KidCare website at floridakidcare.org  to start your application.

Once approved for Florida Healthy Kids, you can choose Community Care Plan as your health plan.
