Where To Get Care

Community Care Plan has many ways for your child to get the care they need.

Telehealth

See a health care provider from your computer tablet or smartphone – anytime, anywhere.

The Department of Health and Human Services describes telehealth (also known as telemedicine) as the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to offer care when your child and their doctor aren’t in the same place at the same time.

Telehealth helps you connect to a health provider from home or anywhere to get the quality care your child needs.

When you can’t take your child to the doctor, telehealth is a way to keep your child healthy.

What Types of Care Can My Child Get with Telehealth?

All doctors are licensed and are available in the following specialties:

  • General medicine – Treat flu, allergies, sinus infection, rash, sore throat and more
  • Dermatology – Treat ongoing or severe issues like psoriasis, eczema, acne and more.
  • Behavioral Health – Support for anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, family issues and more.

Reach out to your doctor.
Many Community Care Plan providers offer telehealth services. Contact your child’s doctor for more information.

Use Teladoc.
Teladoc is a telehealth service offered by Community Care Plan to treat non-emergency issues (allergies, flu, eye issues, sinus infections, rashes, sore throat, and more).

Teladoc provides virtual visits or care with a licensed doctor from a smartphone or computer 24 hours/day, seven days/week.

For more information or to sign up, visit Teladoc.com.

What Do I Need for a Virtual Visit?

Virtual appointments may be new to you and your child. It may be their first time seeing a doctor through a screen.

Here is what you will need and some tips to keep in mind before your visit:

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone, based on your type of visit
  • A strong internet connection to ensure the video or call does not drop
  • A way to chat with your child’s doctor after your appointment, if needed (text or email are most common)
  • Important health records or medications, so you can reach them quickly and provide the information or review them with the doctor

Urgent Care

Urgent Care is not Emergency Care. Urgent care is when care is required within twenty-four (24) hours to prevent the condition from becoming an emergency. It must be provided within twenty-four (24) hours of the request. Know where the closest urgent care center for this type of care is located. Urgent care centers are often open late and on weekends.

Find the closest Urgent Care center by visiting our Provider Directory.
